In the lab we have focused on testing and refining the STAC product and software with a wide variety of musicians young and old.  Our goal and focus has been to keep it musical.  We wanted the software interface to be effortless and intuitive as a musical instrument, a simple software launch and then it runs, you are ready to go!  In fact, you don’t even need to look at it while it runs, because its main purpose is to transform four midi boards into a new musical instrument, The STAC.

Part of the magic that takes place in Chordboard Labs is the new music that is produced. This is music that has not been played live before. The STAC allows for all 10 fingers of both hands to get into the action, simultaneously. Those 10 notes might be spread out as much as 6 octaves, which is impossible to play on a regular piano keyboard, and which yields a sound that is UNIQUE and SYMPHONIC! The closest thing that we can use to describe it is, “Orchestration on the Fly.” It’s inspiring!

Composers who write for orchestras can spend hours racking their brains to find harmonies and note spreads among instruments, and the STAC does it live in one pass.  It’s nothing short of awesome.

Text Box: Our vision and mission at CHORDBOARD LLC is to transform the music world. Gone are the days of the long learning curve… now more musical aspirations are seeing the light of day, more songs composed and albums finished, and the performance perfected. Symphonic fun!

Text Box: Chordboard Labs is a great place to get creative, and we have. Our STAC software is simple and elegant, firing up immediately on a MAC or a PC and translating MIDI output from the STAC and sending it along to a MIDI out box, and then connected to a sound source whether in a DAW or another keyboard or sound module.
