The
Performance
Keys

Back! The Chordboard is played through the Performance Keys that have motion identical to other electronic keyboards. Vertical movement and velocity sensitive. Very familiar. Very natural to all keyboardists, and easy for new-comers...you can't make a mistake.

How is this possible? Well, each key is mapped to harmonically correct notes within the chord itself. For example, TPK-1 plays a C, TPK-2 plays an E, and TPK-3 plays a G in the major scale with C as the Root. This pattern repeats itself an octave higher until the last seventh key.

If a specific chord structure is selected with the CSB Panel, such as AUGMENTED, or 7th, or 13th etc. then these TPK keys change their value. However, they STILL play harmonically correct notes.

In the case of a MAJOR 11th Chord 1st INVERSION and DIMISHED, the illustration to the left shows what the note value for each of the TPK keys will be if C is the Root of the chord...(note: middle C=C3) in MIDI...)
