What can the Chordboard do for Me?

I think I could understand more with a Multi-media Presentation...
Journal Extract RE: "The Dream"

The CX10 Can Advance You as a Legitimate Musician!
Some people got it...some people don't (That's what some musicians say...but the fact IS that they just put in TONS of time honing their talent.) YOU can now Play like a professional in no time! Making music is an exciting experience! Professional musicians LIVE for it. The CX10 makes the experience all that more satisfying because it takes away the FEAR of performance. Confidence runs high because there is no fear of hitting a wrong note and spoiling that performance. The only fear you will have will be worrying about how to handle all of the compliments you will get. Professionals have practiced for years to lose their fears.

As you accompany yourself with the Chordboard or play for others, you can concentrate more fully on your vocals, or on the expression of the music itself.
The CX10 SHORTENS up that learning curve, BIG TIME. It's like flipping on a MacIntosh or Windows machine and getting right to work, versus getting a DOS PROMPT and administering your FILE and PROGRAM system that way! No comparison!

Without fear, music is free for expression. One can focus on the emotion of the music, and feel free from the constraints of theory and excessive hand skills (the Piano is a VERY awkward instrument to master!)

I can REALLY accompany Myself and Others now
Ever played one of those "player organs" with "band in a box" and one touch finger chords? Pretty impressive technology, but it TAKES AWAY from the human performance. It gets boring soon. You impressed your friends for the first couple of months, then it got old. Can you imagine trying to really impress anybody with your skill in using a CD player? No really, sit them down in your home and put on your latest CD and try to impress them with your skill in loading and playing the CD. Ain't gonna happen. Why is "band in a box" any different than that? Its got FIXED TEMPO too.

Sampling type of technologies are also dying out now because they merely play back what OTHERS have done before, and without the "Magic" of music. Sterile and Boring. No live human element. Karioke is not much better. It's too easy. Too passive. We NEED to be more challenged in music, but not TOO challenged so that it becomes a CHORE (like learning the Piano is).

With the Chordboard YOU really supply all of the human elements needed to make GREAT music, but you don't have the fear associated with THEORY. The Chordboard BYPASSES that mess, and lets you get right to the core music with a real instrument. You are playing keys that play one note at a time. You decide which notes you are going to play, just as one does on the Piano; however, on a piano you must ALSO master complicated and difficult hand positioning for chords. Let's just say it: The Piano keyboard is like a DOS PROMPT--it takes YEARS to master, and then when you do, you are still limited somewhat by it's arcane interface.

The Chordboard improves upon the Piano interface dramatically, like MacIntosh did with the first GUI*. Even so, there is still a small need for the programmers who use the DOS PROMPT, the UNIX PROMPT, and program in "C" etc., because that is their level. It is the "HEXIDECIMAL" level...reserved for the computer hackers. It is where they are comfortable and where they belong. So it is with masters of the Piano. We have some very very FEW people in the world who have entered the "proficient" arena of piano competence, and we have a lot of wannabes. We have even more people who never tried. Can the Chordboard help them? Most Definitely!!

Ever SURF the DOS Prompt?
People DO! People in the past, that is. For those that remember this experience, the closest thing to "Surfing" the DOS Prompt was running the "TREE" program and watch as it scrolled all of your file names by on the screen for a few moments. Real exciting stuff! Well, it was neat in its day...ha ha (wow, have we come a long way!).

Welcome to the WINDOWS of keyboards: The Chordboard. People STILL DO surf the Piano keyboard, and the experts play some pretty good stuff with it, but what are they? One in a Thousand? One in 10,000? What about the 9,999 who DON'T surf that interface? Maybe they don't have 1,000 hours to learn it! What about these folks?

...Well, the Chordboard brings them into the musicians fold too. Maybe they have "more important" things to do, but they still want to play some real music once in a while! Hmmm...can it be? Can we have cake and eat it too? Is there really a musical instrument that has IMPROVED upon the Piano interface, much like WINDOWS improved upon the DOS Prompt?

YES, and in the SAME Magnitude and Proportion too! The Chordboard is THAT BIG of an improvement, that it is almost scary. The Piano is 285 years OLD!!! How LONG will we HOLD ON to the past and not let go?! Well, as long as we want to continue to elevate to superstar status the "gods" of the piano for what they can do. Yes...the Chordboard is going to make millions of new musicians, just as GUI made "desktop" publishers out of computer users. Now everyone has WYSIWYG!* (well some people still use Word Perfect for DOS...oh well)

The Chordboard is the WYSIWYG musical interface for keyboards! Now MORE PEOPLE have the POWER of music at their fingertips, and can produce a BEAUTIFUL PRODUCT that is entirely their OWN CREATION. That is the BEAUTY of it...
*...in case you forgot, WYSIWYG = "What You See Is What You Get", an OLD desktop publishing buzz word from the 1980's...
